Club HIstory

Early days

Just after the turn of the last century in 1902, Chipperfield Football Club was formed, initially to play friendly games. Within two years this had become a more serious pastime and they joined the local West Herts League in 1904, which covers the Hemel Hempstead and Watford district.

60's and 70s

In the late 1960s to early 70s the Club had a very successful period winning everything in sight including the West Herts Premier League 7 times in succession. They joined the Herts County League in 1975.

80's

Chipperfield Corinthians was formed in 1987 through the merger of Chipperfield and Tudor Corinthians. Tudor Corinthians could not reach Premier Division status due to the facilities at their council pitch in Croxley Green. Chipperfield were languishing in the bottom half of Division 2.

The merger was the best for all concerned and so it turned out to be in the first season; winning Division 1, the Rickmansworth Charity Cup and also the Herts Intermediate Cup. At the beginning of the season a new Clubhouse was started. After a tremendous effort the Clubhouse was completed to coincide with promotion and ready for the first home game in the Premier Division.

90's

Youth Football was started in the late 1990’s and saw a group of four teams work through from U7’s right through to U18’s. There have been a few sparse years where no volunteers came forward to run teams but the last U18 team went onto win their league in their final year.

Present day

We now have teams in youth age groups from U15 to U7, with a development squad at U6. We are proud to have girls teams in the Hertfordshire Friendly Partnership league and hope to continue to see two new players progress through the age ranges in coming years.
